Student Advisory Board
What is the HPAO Student Advisory Board?
The SAB is a group of pre-health students at the University of Maryland who are pursuing careers in Medicine, Dentistry, and a variety of other health professions. These students are here to help other pre-health students based on their experience regarding classes, applications, interviews, and more.
How can I meet with a SAB member?
Visit the HPAO (1210 H. J. Patterson) during their office hours. SAB members are only available in the Fall/Spring semesters. THERE ARE NO SUMMER HOURS. SAB Members are in order by office hours to the right!
The Reed-Yorke Health Professions Advising Office (HPAO) of the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences has created a Student Advisory Board (SAB), consisting of students pursuing the health professions. This will include Pre-Medicine, Dentistry, Optometry, Podiatry, and Allied Health. The HPAO Student Advisory Board has the following goals and purpose:
advising HPAO staff on issues pertinent to the undergraduate experience of pre-health students;
representing the University of Maryland student body on issues of particular interest or concern to pre-health students;
communicating with HPAO students about important HPAO initiatives, goals, and programs;
contributing to the advancement of the HPAO office and projects;
organizing events, communications, and activities to foster a spirit of community and identity amongst pre-health students.
