Post-Bacc Programs

Post-bacc programs can be an essential part of building a competitive academic profile for those individuals who are eligible to utilize them. There are two types: career changer and record enhancing programs. A career changer is for individuals who have not completed the required pre-requisite science coursework needed for their medical school application. The record enhancer program would be best suited for students who have completed the required science coursework but need to improve their academic competitiveness. Keep in mind that these programs do not replace your undergraduate GPA, but do provide additional coursework beyond your Bachelor's degree, in most cases, at the graduate level. In addition, there are programs specifically designed to assist individuals who are educationally or economically disadvantaged or underrepresented in the health professions. Most programs are available to all individuals regardless of your career path- medical or dental.
